A young girl was gone. Hope was gone. The story seemed finished. Then Jesus took her hand and said two words.
TALITHA KUMI exists as a reminder that God restores what feels lost, awakens what feels forgotten, and calls people into new life.
It isn't just clothing. Someone always asks what the words mean — and that question is the whole point.
How these two words found me.
One night during a mission trip in St. Louis, I found myself reading through the ministry of Jesus, longing to hear from the Lord and understand more of His character. When I reached Mark 5, I was drawn into the story of Jairus, a synagogue leader who came to Jesus desperate for Him to save his daughter. Before Jesus reached her, word came that she had died. To everyone around her, it seemed as though her story was over, but the words but God kept echoing in my mind. What looked like an ending was not beyond His power. Jesus took her by the hand and said, “Talitha kumi” — little girl, arise. In that moment, those words took hold of my heart and reminded me that what feels impossible to us is never impossible for Him.
The same power that raised Jairus's daughter and raised Jesus from the dead is alive and at work in me. For months, those two words remained deeply rooted in my heart. I had been baptized on August 6, 2025, and exactly one year later, on August 6, 2026, the Lord placed Talitha Kumi on my heart more strongly than ever. I felt Him calling me to do something with these words and share their message with others.
I had been dead in sin, but through Christ I was made alive. TALITHA KUMI was born from the truth that God can take what seems dead and bring it back to life. He calls us to arise, to walk in the identity He has given us, and to remember that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. He is not done with us yet. Our story is not finished.
